WILDCARD SEARCHING
The name and city search areas use wildcard searching. Wildcard searching uses the '@' symbol to help you make the most of your search. There are three ways to use wildcard searching, each is explained below: 1) Placing the wildcard before the search argument, will return anything that ends with the search argument. i.e. You would like to find all public libraries whose name end with the word 'district'. By typing '@district' into the search area, your results will show any libraries whose name ends with the word 'district'. 2) Placing the wildcard after the search argument, will return anything that begins with the search argument. i.e. You would like to find all public libraries whose name begins with the word 'east'. By typing 'east@' into the search area, your results will show any libraries whose name begins with the word 'east'. 3) Placing the wildcard before and after the search argument, will return anything that contains the search argument. i.e. You would like to find all the public libraries whose name contains the word 'grand' somewhere in it. By typing '@grand@' into the search area, your results will show any libraries whose name contains the word 'grand' somewhere in it. | |||||||||||||||||||||
